Duchess Theatre, Covent Garden, London
Nimax Theatres commissioned extensive building works to restore the attractive, listed theatre that was built in 1929 to the designs of Ewen Barr.
Two concurrent contracts were undertaken over a eight week period. The external stone clad façade was fully restored and redecorated, a new external lighting scheme installed and the stalls- level mens' and womens' cloakrooms were completely remodelled and extended and a wheelchair accessible cloakroom provided.
The internal works required complicated structural alterations and extensive alterations to internal services .
Both contracts were undertaken within very tight building programme and tight budgets.
