Mixed Development, Stamford Hill, London.
A mixed new-build development for Agudas Israel Housing Association and Agudas Israel Organisation of Great Britain, a Jewish charitable organisation.
The prominent corner block consists of a synagogue surrounded by offices. The synagogue is expressed externally to make explicit its public and religious significance - effectively the ‘heart’ of the development.
Below the offices and synagogue is a community hall with access to a rear garden. Either side of the offices and synagogue are two blocks of maisonettes and flats for rent comprising: four 4 bed 8 person maisonettes with rear gardens and front light-wells, four 2 Bed 3 person flats, four 4 Bed 8 person maisonettes, each with its own large roof terrace that provide generous amenity space for these large family units.
